I'm a 30-something Japanese-American with a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. However, I haven't found a job in my major (yet). 8(

I still live in the Troy area (Yes, I have finally moved out of Troy proper), and work as a techie (currently unemployed/doing the contracting thing, anyone know of any job openings? ^_^;).

Most of my spare time is spent volunteering as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) at Waterford Rescue Squad and RPI Ambulance, so I don't get much sleep unless it's an uneventful shift... ("Don't say the 'Q' word!!!")
[For those of you not involved with Emergency Medical Services, the word is Q-U-I-E-T]

Hobbies and interests include, but not limited to: (in some vague order of importance)

EMS (actually, should count as a way of life, but... ^_^)
Volunteering in general
Anime (Japanese animation)
Science fiction (unfortunately, there hasn't been much free time to read the past few years)
Gaming - strategy, board and role-playing (Star Fleet Battles, anyone?)
