Languages, or "How should I say this?"

As you might have guessed from looking around, I really enjoy studying foreign languages. They're really probably my biggest hobby.

In any event, here are a number of pages related to languages, linguistics (or semiotics), or to translation in general. Note that because I have chosen to include indices along with specific resources, many of the actual resources can be found rather easily through the indices. In spite of that, I don't plan on changing this "organization".

I suppose that I should also note that a couple of these references are duplicated elsewhere.

Jouyou Dojo, a site for learning Kanji.
Japanese - English Dictionary Server, or here in Japan.
Jeffrey's Kanji Lookup
The Translators Home Page: A good general reference about translation and translators.
List of Dictionaries; This site lists many dictionaries for translating among a number of different languages.
Here is a page dealing with linguistics in general. It has links to some interesting pages, such as this early-18th century chart of hiragana and katakana. It also has a link to a cool page with the numbers from one to ten in about 2000 languages.
UnionWay. These people make tools for reading foreign-language web pages on a PC. Never tried their products myself, but I have heard good things.
And for a wonderful multilingual, translating dictionary, check out the LOGOS.
I've heard that this site is really good for learning Japanese.
And if you're interested in studying Chinese, Japanese, or Indonesian, take a look at the FALCON program at Cornell University.
Here are a few very general resources:

I'm now looking into classical languages, particularly the more obscure ones. Here are some pages to a few of them:
