I wanted to do something a bit better than I did last year, where I have somewhat of a summary, and a few pictures mixed in.  This year, I kept a journal each day, primarily for my (then) girlfriend, but also for my mom and myself.  My mom and I left on Oct. 11, 1999, and finally returned on the 26th.  This meant leaving on a Monday, and returning on a Tuesday, but the plane tickets were several hundred dollars cheaper for that...
