So, your sitting there at your computer asking yourself: "What could this page possibly be about?"

Well, I'll tell ya. It's about me and one of my passions... running. For most of my life I have exercising in one way or another. As a young child, I played soccer, baseball, basketball, bowled, swam, etc (I think you get the point). When I was 10 years old, I started delivering papers in order to start saving money for my eventual car I did the paper route 90% of the time either on my bike or on foot. I really enjoyed running.

When I went into High School I decided to try out for Track and Field. I made it on the team and I loved it. My Freshman year, I began with the 200 meter dash and worked my way into the 400 meter dash. Sophomore year, I was the second best 400 meter runner on my team, I still ran the 200 meter dash and I started running the mile relays. Junior year, I was the best 400 meter runner on my team, still ran the mile relay, still ran the 200 meter dash, started running the 400 meter Intermediate Hurdles, and started running the 800 meter run, 2 mile relay and ran Cross Country. By the time I was a senior, I was running the 200 meter dash, 4x200 meter relay, 300 meter dash, 400 meter dash, 400 meter Intermediate Hurdles, 4x400 meter relay (mile relay), 600 meter run, 800 meter run, 4x800 meter relay (2 mile relay), sprint medley relays, distance medley relays, and Cross Country. Not only was I the best on my team in the 400 meter dash that year, but I was the only person dedicated to the 400 meter dash except for a couple of Freshmen. I really enjoyed back then. It was probably the thing I enjoyed most about St. Joseph's Regional High School.

After High School, I went to R.P.I. and continued running there. I was fairly sick of running the longer races so I initially stuck with the 200 meter dash and tried running the 100 meter dash and the 55 meter dash. I didn't do very well Freshman year and I started to not enjoy track as much as I used to. Sophomore year, I did the same races except I did worse at them do to injuries sustained in the off-season. By the end of Sophomore year, I was ready to give up Track & Field for good. Then a funny thing happened, while at school over the summer of 1994 (after Sophomore year), I started running again, not for track, not to be in shape, not for anyone or anything other than me. Here are a couple pictures taken at some local track meets I ran in for fun that summer:

I started to enjoy running again. I began to re-realize what drew me to Track in the first place. It wasn't the ribbons or the gold or the glory, it was the love of running. So, I decided to continue with Track on one condition: I do it for me. You know what started happening? I started getting better again. I was looking forward to practices again and I was enjoying them again and I was improving. I ended my college Track & Field career in May 1996 by making it to the New York Division III State Championships for the 400 meter Intermediate Hurdles. I am quite happy about with the way things have turned out and I actually managed to get my times back to the same level that they were at when I was in High School which had become a goal for me in 1996

That's all for running for now. Back to my Start up Page.
