My Friends
This page is dedicated to the friends I have and hold dear to my heart. Everyone seems to have a page like this. It makes sense after all, friends are the ones who mold who we are. I am dedicating this to only some of my friends since if I tried to write about eveyone, I'd never finish this page, much less any of the others I want to do.
My Love
This is Bobbi "Roberta" Chase. I term it this way because Roberta is officially her name but she never goes by that name. She has been Bobbi her entire life. She is Bobbi. We have been seeing each other since March 1996. I love her very deeply and feel very honored to be able to share my life with her. She and I got engaged April 5, 1997 and we are quite happy and committed to one another. She also graduated from RPI and graduated in May 1997 with a degree in Environmental Science. I am quite fond of this picture by the way. I am the one who took the photograph. She is standing in front of the VCC (Vorhees Computing Center) at RPI in the middle of a snow strom. Nifty, huh? :)
Bill Ruhsam
Bill and I both work at Amphenol. I will write more later. :)
Dan Anschuetz
This is Dan. He is one of my best friends in all the world. We met at RPI Freshman year. I kept visiting him late at night and stealing his wheelchair to go out on late-night rolls. We decided to be roomates the next year. This unfortunately did not work, though we did grow a lot closer. The following year and the year after that I lived right across the hall from him. If either one of us ever needed anything we were there for each other. Even those unfortunate occasions when I had to drive him over to the hopital to take care of one exotic disease or another. Dan is now working and living in Florida near Ft. Lauderdale. This of course means that I haven't had the chance to see him in a while and I am looking forward to seeing him soon! I decided to use this image for Dan because it was the worst I have of him (I wish I had worse to post) and he is really bad about emailing me and I figure this might help to remind him.
James T. Finnegan
This is one of my older best friends, James. I first met James at a retreat held by my old church in NJ when I was a Freshman in High School, way back in 1989. To be perfectly honest I thought he was rather strange (I was right, sorry, James, but you are!). He was sitting at a table totally ignoring everyone and watching matches burn one at a time until the entire book of matches was gone. A few months later I met him again. My friends, Chris, Matt, Bernard, and I went over to James' house to play some AD&D (Advanced Dungeons and Drangons for you non-gamers). This time I actually got to know James a little and we have been friends ever since. He is probably the most well-versed and most intelligent person I know. James is living back in New Jersey. He is currently working with his dad doing stock market analysis stuff. He hasn't emailed me in quite a while (hint, hint) but he and I are both busy these days.
Robert Reeder
This is Rob. I've known Rob longer than James. Rob goes to school at Stanford University and as far as I know will be graduating soon. I don't know much about what is happening in Rob's life right now. It is hard to convince him to write anyone. Rob is a really smart guy and he is also a really good runner. Last I heard (about 2 years ago) he was ranked in the top 100 runners in the world for his age group. Who would have ever thought that the guy whose hands turned purple whenever it was cold out due to low blood pressure would be a world-class runner? BTW, this picture is about 4 years old so Rob doesn't look very similar to this either.
Lisa Preschle
Lisa is a person whom I have known for quite a while but up until last year or so wasn't comfortable with calling her a friend. This has changed however. Lisa is my friend and I am very lucky to have her as a friend. She is an architect by trade and a child at heart. She, like me, is a huge Disney fan. In fact, whenever we correspond through email she signs off as "Pooh" and I sign off as "Jester" (I really need a good picture of me in my Jester's hat for you to see!)
Ali Woodworth
Ah, Ali. This is a picture of Ali from her graduation soon. I met Ali WAY back in 1992. She lived on the third floor of Crockett Hall and I lived on the first floor. The first time I remember ever running into her, she was giving everyone in the computer lab back rubs to relieve stress. She is a wonderful friend and I feel quite blessed to have her as a friend and to have her consider me to be a friend. She is currently living in College Park in Maryland, working. She seems quite happy, I am happy for her. I hope to be able to visit her soon, but life has a way of getting in the way of social visits. Oh, and Ali: yes, I do miss your licking me (inside info, don't you hate it when your on the outside!!).
Alain is a really good friend from RPI. I met Alain Sophomore year. He would come over to my room and watch movies to relax and end up always falling asleep in the room. Al and I get together whenever we can and hang out and talk and have a real good time. He's one of very few people in this world whom I actually talk to for more than a couple minutes at a time and I am grateful to him for his friendship. It was Al's friend John who sold me my pickup. I hope to get a picture of Al up on the net soon.
Andrew Chen
What can I say about Andy? He's a Mechanical Engineering student with me at RPI. I have known him for 4 years now. He graduated with his Bachelors degree in May, 1996 and is doing well. He has got to be the most well practiced video game player I know. :) Oh yeah, he is also a great comic book artist. :)
Adam Burr
This, my friends, is the one and only Adam Burr. Adam is an avid gamer among other things (including a very good musician IMHO). We met while playing an AD&D campaign at RPI in 1994-1995. He was a nice white mage (Ameryl) and I was a Knight of the Sword (Tenderfoot). It was a very interesting campaign in which we managed to survive so many things which should have completely obliterated us. Isn't luck a wondrous thing?!? Anyway, Adam is a really nice guy, you should check him out. :)
