Despite the reasonable Friday Lotus experienced, the team remains optimistic about the remainder of their Hungarian weekend. Kovalainen's second session was cut short, due to a hydraulic failure in his T127, which resulted in a five-lap second practice session. Team mate Trulli was the more fortunate one as the Italian was actually able to make full use of both sessions.
Having left Hockenheim with a bitter taste in the mouth makes the Lotus crew determined as ever to make up for last weekend during the Hungarian Grand Prix. This weekend could bring up some surprises as heavy rain is considered a possibility during qualifying whereas light showers may occur on Sunday.
Lincoln City's poor record at Blundell Park continued with a 4-2 defeat to the Blue Square Premier side. Only 32 City fans made the trip, a number that was probably made considerably smaller by the Echo reporting that it would be a youth side, as it turned out only one youth team player made the starting eleven.
Continuing our new tradition of poetic reporting, Ged Ladd tries his hand at some clerihews tonight. Some work better than others, much like the cricketers really. It's been another glorious day for Middlesex, folks, so enjoy the moment in whimsical verse.
The Force India F1 Team's Hungarian Grand Prix preparations got underway today with the opening two free practice sessions at the twisty, undulating Hungaroring on the outskirts of the capital city of Budapest.
West Bromwich Albion look set to complete their search for a goal keeper this week with a deal for Hull City's Boaz Myhill poised to go through. Gaffer Roberto Di Matteo has been searching for good competition for current number one Scott Carson, and Myhill has been a known target for some time. Hull City had always insisted that Myhill was not for sale.

The new Premiership season kicks off two weeks tomorrow. To avoid extending their reputation as a mere 'Yo-Yo' club West Bromwich Albion will need to mount a serious challenge for Premiership survival. With the scrap for top flight survival as competative as ever this forthcoming season this week WBA Baggiesworld asks you: Have West Brom done enough this summer to avoid relegation next season?
West Bromwich Albion have joined a handful of Premiership clubs in banning the Vuvuzela from their home games next season. Birmingham City were the first Midlands club to do so last week, and now West Brom have followed suit by enforcing a ban against the popular World Cup instruments at the Hawthorns.
The second Friday practice session for the 2010 Hungarain GP would see the Williams team drop off the pace with Nico Hulkenberg and Rubens Barrichello finishing in 8th and 12th. Nico could take some satisfaction in leading Rubens but it was a session that did not see any real improvement from either Williams driver. Now it was is a case of whether they will be able to find extra time for Saturday.

There was a moderator who needed someone to do a report, Someone who could capture it in rhyme is what he thought. This report is not ball by ball, But it doesn't matter at all, Cos the highlights of a great Middlesex day have been caught.
Another of those 'must win' games starts on a breezy but warm Thursday in July. Nottinghamshire played when we didn't so we have a "games in hand" thing going on. Nick Compton is back in for Ben Phillips. We chose to bat at the toss backing our batting prowess against a strong Notts attack...may be a bad decision....read on.

Saints Super Summer Sojourn Across the States - Day 1
I've posted on here for several years now, with a variety of aliases. I've been Jon in NZ, Jon in Bermuda, Jon in Brazil, Jon in Maine, and briefly I was Jon at Sea last month. Of course, most people on here now refer to me as Jon in Wherever...
It's not often in sport that a good result in the first game in a pool can virtually guarantee progress in a competition, but that's the situation for Gloucester in the Amlin Cup - avoid defeat in the first game at Agen, and barring major upsets they should be on their way to the next stage of the competition.
The T20 Quarter Final. We've done all the hard work but now have to face Northants without the bowling expertise of Kieron Pollard (who has played himself into form for Trinidad and Tobago) and possibly Ben Phillips who has a niggling groin strain. Arul Suppiah bowled himself into contention in the Championship and one day games last week but Mark Turner may be preferred.
Our Uxbridge Groundie Vic's final duty at end of festival was to report for MTWD on the trials and tribulations of the week leading up to making this all possible. While it was a success there were some major traumas on route. Thanks Vic for a fascinating insight into the behind the scenes work.
